Al-the-Gator and Freddy Frog
This is my first children’s book and, at the insistence of my publisher, I used the pen name “Doc Gator.” It is about an alligator and his friends living in a farm pond in south Texas near where I caught, studied and released over 200 alligators. This book is published by 4RV Publishing Company of Edmond, OK, and is available directly from the publisher www.4rvpublishingllc.com or from www.Amazon.com. Reviews of the book are posted at both websites. Children like the book because it has many large whimsical color drawings of alligators and other creatures living in the farm pond. Parents and teachers appreciate the book because it was written by a zoologist who has devoted much of his life to studying alligators both in the wild and under controlled laboratory conditions. This is most unusual for a children’s author. I have included some interesting scientific facts about the animals and a moral lesson that is applied in the story. Each book is dedicated to a child in my circle of friends and relatives as an encouragement to these and other children. Al-the-Gator and Freddy Frog is being translated into Spanish and should be available later this summer. The second book in the series, Al-the-Gator and Tommy Turtle is finished and should be available this fall. The book is available in paperback for $21.99. Search by title or the author’s pen name Doc Gator. |
